Police update: Sudden death investigation, Pioneer

Police have charged an 18-year-old Happy Valley man with murder following the death of a 34-year-old man in Mount Isa yesterday, February 8.

Emergency services were called to the Abel Smith Parade property in Pioneer just after 2am following reports a man had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, the 34-year-old Richmond Hill man was located with life-threatening injuries.

He was transported to the Mount Isa Hospital where he was declared deceased a short time later.

An 18-year-old was taken into police custody at the scene.

It will be alleged the two men were known to each other.

The 18-year-old Happy Valley man has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence) and due to appear at Mount Isa Magistrates Court today, February 9.
