A woman has died following a crash in Sydney's inner west yesterday.
About 3pm (Monday 29 September 2025), emergency services were called to Barnstaple Road, Five Dock, following reports a cyclist had been hit by a car.
Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command were told a 66-year-old woman was riding a bicycle when she was allegedly involved in a crash with an SUV.
The woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
Police were informed the woman had died overnight.
The driver – a 57-year-old man – was taken to Concord Hospital for a mandatory testing.
He was later taken to Burwood Police Station, before being released without charge pending further inquiries.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
