Police update: Wounding, Surfers Paradise

Two men have been charged after another man sustained non-life threatening stab wounds to his leg at Surfers Paradise in early May this year.

It is alleged around 5.50pm on May 4, a scuffle broke out between three men at Cavill Avenue where punches were thrown. During the incident it is alleged a 41-year-old man sustained two puncture wounds to his upper right leg.

The injured man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 43-year-old man from Surfers Paradise has been charged with grievous bodily harm, possess dangerous drug and possess utensil. He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 37-year-old man also from Surfers Paradise has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on August 10, 2020.
