Police vehicle involved in crash in Cronulla

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle crash involving a police car in Sydney’s south, NSW Police say.

Just before midday (Wednesday 5 September 2018), a police vehicle and a Mercedes collided at the intersection of The Kingsway and Connels Road at Cronulla.

The female driver of the Mercedes was treated by paramedics and taken to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

A small child passenger was uninjured.

The driver of the police vehicle, a male Senior Constable, was treated for minor facial injuries.

The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit will attend and investigate the circumstances of the crash.

The Kingsway remains closed westbound and motorists are urged to avoid the area and check www.livetraffic.com.au for updated information.
