A NSW Police Force civilian employee has been charged after an alleged road rage incident in Sydney's south west.
About 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday 22 March 2026), officers from Cumberland Police Area Command responded to reports of a brawl on Merrylands Road, Merrylands.
Five men – aged 56, 30, 21 and two other men aged 50 – were spoken to by police at the scene and an investigation into the incident commenced.
The 56-year-old man was identified as an off duty civilian employee attached to a specialist command.
Police will allege that the 56-year-old man and one of the 50-year-old men were inside a vehicle together when they became involved in an altercation with the three other men over a parking spot.
There were no reports of any serious injuries.
Today (Monday 2 March 2026), the man was served with a Future Service Court Attendance Notice for the offence of affray and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Monday 4 May 2026.
His employment status is under review.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
