Dedicated pop-up COVID-19 testing clinics will open on key freight routes to keep workers COVIDSafe.
The new pop-up testing clinics in Narrandera and Tarcutta will provide an easy way for freight workers to get tested for COVID-19.
The pop-up testing clinics will open seven days a week, operating from 9am to 4pm. The hours of operation will be extended from Monday 31 August 2020.
The NSW Government is working with the freight industry to put in place safety measures for freight workers during the pandemic.
The newly developed Freight Movement Code for the Domestic Border Controls will encourage workers to carry out voluntary COVID-19 testing every seven days.
More freight pop-up clinics will be established in the coming weeks. The new locations will expand across Greater Sydney, Central West and South East NSW.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the additional pop-up clinics will make it easier for workers in the industry to get tested.
"The freight industry has pulled out all the stops during this challenging time to ensure food and household supplies, as well as important medical supplies get to where they are needed most - and we want to ensure we are giving them the support they need to keep doing that," Mr Toole said.
