Pop up information stalls for Planning Scheme changes

Planning Amendment Flood Study.jpg

To coincide with the current consultation on changes to the Planning Scheme, Rockhampton Regional Council will be setting up information stalls around the region this month.

Planning and Regulation Councillor Grant Mathers said that with the changes being the result of updated flood mapping, it is important that everyone checks to see if their property is affected, and to understand what that may mean for them.

"This month we have been sending out letters and information packs to around 3500 impacted property owners," Cr Mathers said.

"We have also been encouraging everyone to head to the Council website to find out about these proposed changes and to have their say.

"In addition to this, we will be setting up some information stalls, where our planning officers and engineers will be available to provide information and answer questions regarding the latest amendment for Local Flood Catchment Mapping and the Fitzroy River Flood Mapping.

"They will be able to guide you through the flood mapping and show you how you can make a submission.

"The first one kicks off tomorrow at Stockland Shopping Centre outside Coffee Club between 9.00am and 4.00pm.

"I would encourage anyone who is wanting to know about the proposed changes to the Planning Scheme and the updated flood modelling, to absolutely head along to one of these pop up stalls."
