Wollongong City Council is aware of a tragic incident on the rock shelf and platform below Hill 60, Port Kembla.
We understand that on Friday 22 January, an alarm was raised at 10.15pm following the report of the death of three rock fishermen at Port Kembla.
NSW Police conducted a search of the area last night and have continued this search this morning with the help of SES and Surf Life Saving Illawarra. Council Lifeguards are on standby to assist if required.
Police have reported that five people were washed into the water last night and two made it to shore.
