Western Sydney's first ever Cultural Institution, Powerhouse Parramatta, is on track for opening on 7 November 2026.
With the landmark project entering its final stages, the NSW Government is announcing interim arrangements that will guide the organisation from 1 September.
Following new allegations, the Chief Executive has stood aside while investigations into governance and procurement are finalised.
The interim team comprises:
- Abbie Galvin, interim Chief Executive: Ms Galvin is currently the NSW Government Architect is an experienced senior executive with significant experience across the public, infrastructure and cultural sectors.
- Louise Herron AM, Strategic Advisor: Former Opera House CEO, Ms Herron is uniquely placed to help guide and support the organisation, given her depth of skill in guiding organisations with large audiences, particularly during periods of transformation.
David Borger, President, the Powerhouse Trust and the Powerhouse Trustees will continue to support the leadership team and ensure continued focus on Western Sydney and organisational continuity.
Minister for the Arts John Graham said:
