Preview screenings of Moïse Marcoux-Chabot's NFB-produced documentary series Ramaillages (Gatherings) will begin on February 14 in the Gaspésie, where the series was shot. This must-see series provides fresh insights into regional development, examining environmental challenges from a sensitive and enlightened perspective. The Gaspésie tour will kick off on February 14 in Mont-Louis, followed by screenings in Percé, Gaspé, Bonaventure and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, with the director and several of the films' participants in attendance. The series consists of six 30-minute episodes, which will be available on NFB.ca starting March 7 in addition to being screened at festivals. Moïse Marcoux-Chabot, who is personally involved in the new initiatives explored in the series, gives audiences privileged access to the beauty of the people, the language and the land over the course of several seasons. Ramaillages (Gatherings) is the first 100% NFB-produced documentary series.
This captivating series marks the first collaboration between the NFB and Marcoux-Chabot, best known for his participation in the Course des régions and his short films, including Lespouère, which won awards at the Percéides Festival and in Louisiana, USA. The filmmaker takes a loving, sensitive look at the inspiring, hope-filled individuals who led him to move to the Gaspé region so that he could join them in preserving and developing the land, ideals that are part of a global movement.
