Previously wanted men charged after public appeal at Orange

Police in the state's central west have arrested two wanted men following a public appeal for assistance.

On Wednesday 24 April 2019, police made an appeal for assistance from the public during inquiries into two men – aged 28 and 35 – wanted on outstanding warrants in Orange.

Following inquiries by officers from Central West Police District, a 28-year-old man was arrested at a home on Quinlan Run, Orange, on Friday 26 April 2019.

He was taken to Orange Police Station where was charged with discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, as well as execution of three arrest warrants for various offences.

He faced Orange Local Court, where he was refused bail to re-appear on Monday 1 July 2019.

On Monday 15 April 2019, officers attached to Central West Police District attended a home on Lucas Street, Orange, in relation to domestic violence related matters, where they came across items of interest.

Officers from the Central West Proactive Crime Team attended the home and served a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) on a 35-year-old man believed to be inside, searching the property and a vehicle.

The FPO search was suspended, and a search warrant was executed, during which police seized firearms, cash, an illicit substance believed to be methylamphetamine, electronics, and items of interest.

The 35-year-old man was unable to be located during the search.

Following further inquiries, the 35-year-old man was arrested at a hotel on Lords Place, Orange, about 10pm on Monday 29 April 2019.

He was taken to Orange Police Station and charged by virtue of two warrants issued for 14 offences relating to firearms, larceny, break, enter and steal, goods in custody, and deal with the proceeds of crime.

He faced Orange Local Court where he was refused bail to reappear on Monday 17 June 2019.
