Pride Fest 2025 Finale: Comedy Star, Top Events

Qtopia Sydney

Qtopia Sydney's Pride Fest 2025 has entered its final week with a stacked program of comedy, cabaret and creativity, led by headline act The Platonic Human Centipede by Mel & Sam.

By the end of the week, Pride Fest 2025 will have welcomed over 400 artists across more than 150 events throughout June, transforming the Rainbow Precinct into a buzzing hub of drag, theatre, cabaret, comedy, workshops and exhibitions. In its second year, the festival has doubled in scale and solidified itself as a major addition to Sydney's winter calendar.

Running nightly from 25-29 June, The Platonic Human Centipede is a musical sketch comedy fever dream from comedy duo Mel O'Brien and Samantha Andrew. With original songs, quick witted writing and explosive physical comedy, the show explores friendship, co-dependence and Queer chaos in a form that's part sitcom, part cabaret, part existential breakdown. Critics have called Mel & Sam "simply mind-blowing" (Sydney Scoop), "screamingly funny" (The Advertiser) and "the future of Australian Comedy (Herald Sun), with 5-star reviews from Time Out, The Age and InDaily.

Pride Fest 2025's final week highlights also include:

  • Draw Your Inner Drag Queen 29 June – Join Sydney's own Fabulous Wonder Mama (AKA Wilma) for a draw-and-sip like no other. This hands-on oil pastel workshop blends creativity, colour and camp. Everyone leaves with a unique piece of art, perfect for beginners and family friendly for ages 12+
  • A Kilted Queer 24 – 27 June – Marc Isaac, a Scottish doctor and storyteller, brings his hit solo show exploring growing up gay, neurodivergent and outrageous. This is smut, heartfelt storytelling across the spectrum, from childhood to coming out of palliative care, all delivered with comedic bite.
  • Left of Centre 27 – 28 June – A high-energy Queer variety show hosted by comedian Brigitta Brown, blending stand-up, cabaret, drag, dance and music from over 20 diverse LGBTQIA+ artists. After multiple sold out shows, this two night run is set to be an unapologetic celebration of Queer brilliance.

"There's something for everyone this week," said Carly Fisher, Festival Director. "We've programmed shows that are hilarious, heartfelt and proudly Queer. It's a joyful way to round out a month of powerful storytelling and creative connection."

Pride Fest 2025 runs until Sunday 30 June at Qtopia Sydney.
