Pringle Village aged accommodation opens in Kalgoorlie-Boulder

  • Pringle Village officially opened, offering contemporary independent living in Kalgoorlie-Boulder
  • Supported by $9.8 million State Government investment
  • The McGowan Government has today welcomed the official opening of a new modern retirement living village in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

The State Government contributed $9.8 million towards the Pringle Village project, which provides contemporary independent living units for people living in the Goldfields region.

The village, operated by Goldfields Masonic Homes Inc, includes 49 units, helping to meet high demand for independent living options in the region.

The units incorporate aged friendly design and are arranged in clusters, with common areas including community barbecues, raised garden beds, giant chess and a mini golf green, to facilitate a strong sense of community.

Goldfields Masonic Homes engaged a high level of local content in the project using a local building company, local contractors and suppliers, in the construction of the village, providing employment and training opportunities for Goldfields locals.

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder also provided funding to support the project.

As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:

“This is a good example of government, the private sector and the community working together to address this important need for more independent living options in our regions.

“Pringle Village will provide new, modern units for people of the Goldfields to enable them to remain close to family and friends and long-trusted community and health services.

“Providing for a range of aged care accommodation and independent retirement living is important to build sustainable communities across regional Western Australia.”

As stated by Mining and Pastoral Region MLC Kyle McGinn:

“I was given a tour of the site when first elected as member for Mining and Pastoral. Led by Doug Daws, the team clearly has had local content and contractors at the forefront of the project since the beginning.

“I saw each stage progressing and saw how successful the project was for local contractors to not only do the job but stimulate the economy with State dollars.

“I applaud the initiative taken to address an identified community need.”
