Investigations are continuing after a public place shooting in Sydney' west overnight.
About 8.45pm yesterday (Sunday 8 March 2026), emergency services were called to Northcott Road, Lalor Park, following reports of a public place shooting.
Upon arrival, officers from Riverstone Police Area Command were informed that multiple shots had been fired from a home injuring a man on the street.
The 29-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a gunshot wound before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Police established a crime scene with Riverstone detectives commencing inquiries into the incident.
Following a coordinated response by specialist officers, about 3am today (Monday 9 March 2026), a 46-year-old man was arrested at an address on Northcott Road.
He was taken to Riverstone Police Station; however, released pending further inquiries.
