Prof Gardiner to be appointed as Governor, Victorian Chamber congratulates

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry congratulates Monash University Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret Gardner AC, who the Premier today announced will be appointed the 30th Governor of Victoria.

Professor Gardner AC will bring a wealth of experience, wisdom and dedication to the role in recognition of her exemplary service to the state and community.

We also take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Her Excellency, the Hon Linda Dessau AC CVO.

As Victoria's first female Governor, Her Excellency has been an outstanding representative of our state, embodying the highest standards of leadership throughout her term. She has tirelessly served Victoria, fostered unity and promoted the values that make this state unique.

Together with her husband Mr Anthony Howard AM KC, they have been true champions of progress, inclusivity and cultural diversity. Their unwavering commitment, accomplishment and impact will be remembered for years to come.
