The Property Council of Australia has today launched its 2026 State Election Platform, Ready, Set, Grow: South Australia's Prosperity Roadmap, a comprehensive plan to unlock South Australia's growth potential through bold, practical reform.
Developed in consultation with hundreds of members, industry partners and government, the platform outlines five key pillars to strengthen the economy, boost housing supply, and ensure South Australia remains a competitive and attractive place to live, work and invest.
The five pillars of the roadmap are:
- Housing for all - tackling affordability and unlocking new homes through a $475 million CBD and Corridors Catalyst Package.
- Infrastructure for Growth - funding and coordinating enabling infrastructure to provide critical development-ready employment/industrial land and support jobs growth.
- Planning for Better Cities - cutting red tape and streamlining approval processes to increase speed and certainty for investors, developers, builders and the consumer.
- A Fair and Competitive Tax System - ensuring South Australia is the most competitive and attractive jurisdiction for local, interstate and international capital.
- Productivity, Population and the City of Adelaide - population growth, boosting our workforce and capital city vibrancy.
Property Council SA Executive Director Bruce Djite said the platform is about building confidence and momentum in South Australia's growth story.
"South Australia has enormous potential, but potential alone isn't enough. To deliver the housing, infrastructure and jobs our state needs, we must make bold and deliberate choices now," Mr Djite said.
"Ready, Set, Grow is a roadmap for shared prosperity. It's not about short-term fixes, but long-term solutions that create opportunity for every South Australian."
Mr Djite said housing affordability and infrastructure capacity are front-of-mind for both the community and industry.
"Our members are ready to partner with government to deliver thousands of new homes, but they need certainty, consistency and collaboration. The $475 million CBD and Corridors Catalyst Package is yet another lever the government can pull to unlock immediate supply in highly sought after and well-located areas, where infrastructure, jobs, amenity and transport already exist."
"We also know South Australia is rapidly running out of serviced industrial land, which risks choking investment, business and jobs growth. Our Platform calls for targeted infrastructure funding to unlock the next wave of employment precincts."
The Property Council will use the Ready, Set, Grow platform to engage with all political parties, crossbenchers, local government leaders and bureaucrats ahead of the 2026 State Election.
"Our message is simple, South Australia is ready to grow. Its undeniable potential is ready to be fulfilled. Let's create the conditions that allow that to finally happen," Mr Djite said.
