Police from Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch have charged an 18-year-old Silkstone man with 16 offences following a series of alleged property crimes across Brisbane this week.
Police will allege that after 11pm on 10 May, the man stole a Mitsubishi Pajero that was parked on Coughlin Street in Silkstone.
On 13 May, at approximately 11am, the stolen vehicle was allegedly involved in a traffic crash on the Centenary Highway. The man was subsequently arrested at the scene and issued with a Notice to Appear.
Following further investigations, police will allege the man had been involved in additional break-and-enter offences at a Morningside residence, two residences in Sailsbury, two residences in Sunnybank Hills and one residence on Beaton Street, Coopers Plains between 11-14 May.
The man has been charged with five counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent at night in company, four counts of receiving tainted property, three counts of enter dwelling and commit, and two counts each of enter premises with intent and enter premises and commit indictable offence by break.
The man was refused bail and has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 June.
