Tuesday 6 February 2024 at 6:00am AEDT– Northern Sydney's leading community care provider is celebrating 30 years of delivering health and wellbeing services for locals with a new look and name, rebranding to Proveda.
Formerly known as Community Care Northern Beaches (CCNB), Proveda has been evolving to offer a wider circle of support services to help people and their families. Proveda has expanded its support from where it started in aged care in 1994, to today offering a large variety of services. This includes disability and mental health services such as suicide prevention, social isolation programs, volunteer support, education around end of life planning, and other community-based programs. The expansion of its footprint outside of its Northern Sydney roots has culminated in a rebrand as a national entity and the introduction of its new name.
Proveda is committed to finding a 'best-fit' solution for people and their families – no matter the life challenge they may be facing. Through a team of specialists, including specially trained volunteers, Proveda is focused on helping families navigate the health care system and arming them with the knowledge they require.
The organisation has grown to become one of Northern Sydney's largest independent, not-for-profit, community-led organisations – impacting the lives of approximately 15,000 people over the last 30 years. Through mergers with a number of national-level organisations, including The Groundswell Project Australia, Proveda's services are now reaching people and communities across Australia.
Karen (Kaz) Dawson, Chief Executive Officer of Proveda, says the rebrand signals both the growing reach of the organisation as well as its ongoing legacy as a trusted community care provider with 30 years of grassroots connections and experience.
"Today's announcement reaffirms our commitment to building stronger communities where everyone feels supported and has a sense of belonging. While the Proveda name is new, our legacy has stood the test of time and will carry into the future, as we help more people access the support they need, when they need it," says Kaz.
"Through our national and local services, we now offer more opportunities for connection, compassion and holistic care to individuals and their families. The impact we are making within our communities is bigger than ever, and our new name reflects this growth."
The organisation has expanded in recent years, with its aged care and mental health services growing by 15% and 28% respectively in 2023.1 Through a network of skilled volunteers, employees and service providers, Proveda is helping people and their families through a variety of life's challenges.
Margaret, a long-time resident of Sydney's Northern Beaches, knows firsthand how important Proveda's services are as an aged care recipient.
