Updates have been made to the Public Activities Direction in South Australia. The Public Activities No 27 Direction came into effect at 3.15 pm on Thursday 1 July 2021.
To provide clarity to who is able to sing the following restrictions have been developed and apply in South Australia.
Singing is not permitted at indoor premises that are non-residential unless:
- the singer is performing individually (not including a karaoke performer); or
- the singers are members of a group of performers and they are performing or rehearsing in the indoor premises (not including karaoke performers or persons performing or rehearsing as part of a choir or chorus); or
- the premises are an educational establishment; or
- the singers are undertaking or providing an individual lesson.
Note: Backing singers in a band are permitted.

The Emergency Management (Public Activities No 26) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Public Activities No 27) (COVID-19) Direction 2021.
