Public appeal after pedestrian struck by car in Lalor

Greensborough Highway Patrol officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries during a collision in Lalor this morning.

Investigators have been told the man was crossing High Street, at the intersection of Paschke Street, when he was struck by a black Subaru Forester that was turning right about 6.30am.

The 72-year-old Lalor man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital where he remains.

The driver of the Subaru, a 45-year-old Lalor woman, stopped and assisted police at the scene.

Police continue to investigate the collision and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
