Public Appeal for information regarding alleged extortion at Worongary, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man, wanted for questioning over an alleged extortion at Worongary on Saturday January 13, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged that around 3.15am, four armed men attended a private residence on Alkira Way and threatened the 39-year-old occupant with a firearm, before demanding money and car keys.

The occupant refused and the four men left the scene.

On Wednesday January 17, Police arrested three men in relation to this incident.

A 34-year-old Waterford West man, a 39-year-old Marsden man and a 27-year-old Redbank man were each charged with one count of extortion.

The 34-year-old Waterford West man is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on February 15.

The 39-year-old Marsden man and 27-year-old Redbank man are scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on February 6.

Police are now seeking public assistance to identify the fourth man.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged n his 50s, approximately 173cm tall, with light coloured short hair and a prominent tattoo on his right forearm.

He was wearing a white shirt and blue denim shorts at the time of the incident.
