Public help sought after burglary at Parkville hospital

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are seeking public help to identify a man after a burglary at a hospital in Parkville last month.

Police have been told the man entered an office area at the Flemington Road premises on 27 September about 7.30am, where he stole car keys from a staff member's handbag.

Using the keys, the offender entered the victim's black 2020 Mercedes and attempted to exit the carpark.

Security spotted the man in the vehicle and confronted him, leading to the offender fleeing on foot.

Detectives have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist them with the investigation.

The man is perceived to be Southern European in appearance, in his 20s and was wearing a black jacket with a light-coloured hoodie underneath, black tracksuit pants and black runners.
