The trip started in Shepparton, for meetings with the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, and the Goulburn Murray Water Leadership Group.
It was great to hear local perspectives and have an opportunity to update them on MDBA projects. Both groups were keen to hear about the next steps in the Basin Plan Review and to share their views on key issues in the region.
The team then travelled to Echuca to meet with the owners of the PS Australian Star Paddle Steamer, to hear about issues on the Mid Murray that are affecting tourism.
From here the team travelled to Moama to meet with Murray River Council and Murray Irrigation Limited.
These stakeholders were also keenly interested to discuss the Basin Plan Review and the management of the Barmah Narrows.
