To celebrate and support the Fremantle Dockers playing in the 2025 AFL Finals Series, a purple haze is spreading over the City of Fremantle.
Starting this week several prominent buildings in Fremantle will be lit up by purple lights, including the Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre, Victoria Hall and the Moores Building in the West End.
From next week the Cappuccino Strip will be wrapped in purple decorations and draped in Dockers bunting.
The City and the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce are encouraging local businesses to join in the finals festivities by dressing up their shopfronts.
Many of Fremantle's pubs, bars and restaurants are preparing to host Dockers-themed watch parties.
For fans who can't get a ticket to the game, the best place to be for the Elimination Final on Saturday 6 September is the live site in Walyalup Koort, in the heart of Fremantle's civic centre.
There will be a big screen, DJ and face painting, with viewers encouraged to pack a picnic or grab some takeaway food and secure their spot on the lawn.
The live site will be activated for every finals game the Dockers play.
Fremantle Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge says she's quietly confident the Dockers can get it done.
"Ever the optimist, I think they can go deep into September.
"They have the talent and dogged determination to get them there and whatever happens, they'll do us proud," Mayor Fitzhardinge said.
