Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced artists to create a contemporary public artwork for Wonthaggi.
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari explained that the key aim for the $40,000 commission is to provide a poetic moment of reflection for the residents of the town.
'We want the community to love the artwork, which we hope will become an additional attraction for the area," Cr Tessari said.
"We want to see something that reflects the evolution of Wonthaggi and that really captures the character, as well as the past and future of Wonthaggi."
Artists are required to register their interest by submitting a portfolio of previous works and applications close on Sunday, 17 October.
