The Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland's future, with a new education framework aimed at every state school and every state school student. Brighter Futures: Delivering excellence in every state school, for every student acknowledges that schools play a central role in communities and are critical to building Queensland's future. More than 1800 professionals from across the education sector participated in the consultation process and helped form actions to support excellence in teaching and learning and lift education outcomes. Principals, teachers, teacher aides and school communities will focus on educational achievement, belonging, inclusiveness and a positive culture in all classrooms. Excellence in every state school includes shared priorities focused on high expectations for every student, local decision making, digital innovation, high quality learning and a confident and professional workforce. During each young Queenslanders educational journey, Brighter Futures will priorities each phase:
Starting strong (from Kindy to early primary)
Building on foundations (middle and upper primary school)
On Track for Success (junior secondary)
Ready for the future (senior secondary)
Launching Brighter Futures in Maryborough today, Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek said the plan is aimed at building a world-class state education system that delivers for Queensland's future.
"From the smallest schools in our most remote communities, to the largest schools across Queensland, together we will strive for excellence so that every state school is a school of choice," Minister Langbroek said.
"The plan will empower every student of every background, ability or culture to realise their full potential, through the additional key priorities of local decision-making, digital innovation and a confident, professional state school workforce.
"Every state school will deliver excellence through high expectations, a positive learning culture, and quality teaching and learning across each phase of a student's learning journey – from starting strong in Kindy, to preparing for the future in Year 12. "After a decade of decline under Labor, this is just one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering a fresh start for schools. "Labor's legacy was declining literacy and numeracy rates, falling NAPLAN participation and a $441 million repair bill for school infrastructure." The Crisafulli Government is delivering 15 new schools in the record $21.9 billion Education Budget, including new primary schools in Caloundra South and Ripley Valley, and six special schools to provide choice to parents and help all students reach their potential. As part of the commitment to deliver a plan for Queensland's future, the Crisafulli Government will continue to deliver our red tape reduction plan for teachers, the $100 back to school boost for every primary school student and anti-bullying strategies so all teachers and students can work and learn in safe environments for decades to come.
