Queensland Corrective Services officers presented with Australian Corrections Medal by Queensland Governor

Congratulations again to three Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) officers nationally recognised with an Australian Corrections Medal for their outstanding service to community safety.

After being named in the King's Birthday 2025 Honours list, Chief Superintendent Stuart McHaffie, Serious Offender Director Shannon Atkins and Correctional Manager Patrick Ralph were presented their awards by the Queensland Governor, Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, in a Brisbane investiture ceremony on Thursday 11 September.

The Australian Corrections Medal recognises distinguished service by an operational member of an Australian state or territory civilian corrections service for adults.

QCS Commissioner Paul Stewart APM attended the Government House ceremony where the officers were recognised.

"We are very proud of Chief Superintendent McHaffie, Shannon and Patrick for their outstanding commitment to officer and community safety and reforming lives," Commissioner Stewart said.

"Their commitment to increasing community safety is evident through their work and its effect on our community.

"Being recognised nationally is an honour they deserve, and I congratulation them on their achievements."
