JOINT STATEMENT
As stated by Premier of Queensland David Crisafulli:
Queenslanders will be deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Queensland Police Service Commissioner Steve Gollschewski AO APM.
Mr Gollschewski devoted his life to the Queensland Police Service, upholding our laws and making our state a safer place.
Queenslanders will remember his exemplary leadership, during some of the State's most difficult challenges.
He spent more than four decades serving with remarkable dedication and integrity, leaving behind a legacy of outstanding contribution to policing and community safety.
On behalf of all Queensland, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
