ClubGRANTS is one of Australia's largest grant programs, providing more than $100 million a year to worthy causes, to charities and not-for-profit groups across NSW.
The Queanbeyan-Palerang ClubGRANTS Committee is made up of four local clubs: Campbell & George, Queanbeyan Kangaroos Rugby League Football Club, Queanbeyan Leagues Club and Queanbeyan Tigers Australian Football Club.
This year, the Committee selected 33 projects worth around $380,000 in total, to receive either full or partial funding under the annual Category 1 funding round. The 33 projects will provide community welfare and social services, with the aim of improving the living standards and welfare of low income and disadvantaged people.
The clubs have supported a wide range of programs for the local community. Some of the programs and organisations funded include:
- The Queanbeyan Multicultural Supported Playgroup which provides valuable engagement for families from diverse cultural backgrounds
- PCYC Queanbeyan to deliver a Safer Driver Course to provide free driving lessons for 50 young people from economically disadvantaged families
- High Street Care Queanbeyan to provide emergency food relief for those doing it tough
- ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group to make life easier for local cancer patients
- Epilepsy Action Australia for a seizure awareness program for educators at local schools
The Queanbeyan-Palerang ClubGRANTS Committee would like to thank all groups who took the time to submit an application for this year's round and encourage those who missed out to apply again next year.
