Queen's Building
In the University Compare UK University Employability Rankings 2026, Queen Mary is ranked 11th, a jump of 13 places compared to 2025. This guide incorporates the views of alumni and takes into account how universities prepare students for life after graduation.
Queen Mary is also ranked 17th in the Graduate Market in 2025, a report produced by High Fliers Research, which provides an overview of the graduate employment landscape for this year. Included in it are the top universities for employability, along with graduate vacancies and starting salaries at the UK's leading employers. The University first entered the report's top 20 in 2020 and has remained there for the last six years.
Supporting students' careers is a priority
Ensuring students are supported to succeed in their chosen careers is a key objective of the University's Strategy 2030. Careers support at Queen Mary is wide and varied and includes a personalised careers service which can be accessed for up to two years after graduation. The University also provides placements and internships, employer visits, volunteering and community engagement opportunities, as well as support with student entrepreneurship through an incubator and a student enterprise award.
These two reports support other recent independent rankings, including from the Daily Mail which placed Queen Mary 12th in the UK for graduate earnings, and the Telegraph which ranked two of its subjects top in the country for the same measure.
Professor Colin Bailey CBE, President and Principal of Queen Mary University of London said: "Our sustained position among the top universities for employers is a testament to the dedicated work we put in to supporting our young graduates.
"At Queen Mary, we pride ourselves on opening the doors of opportunity to anyone with the potential to succeed. I am incredibly proud that employers are consistently recognising that hiring Queen Mary graduates means hiring world-leading, Russell Group graduates, who are diverse in their thinking, experience and backgrounds, and who will provide their organisation with a distinctive advantage in today's global economy."
