A Brisbane man is struggling to grasp the reality of his newfound fortune after discovering he is one of two winners in this week's Oz Lotto draw, taking home a life-changing $15 million, half of the $30 million jackpot. The other $15 million was bagged by a Sydney resident.
The Gordon Park local, still in disbelief, described feeling like he's "waiting to be woken up from a lovely dream." He held one of the two division one winning entries in Oz Lotto draw 1566, drawn Tuesday, February 20th, 2024.
“This is blowing my mind!” the elated winner exclaimed.
“My wife and I work really hard, but we won’t be stopping as a result of this win.
“It will allow us to cut back on our hours, though, which is a huge relief.
“We’ve also been trying to prepare for our future and invest, and this is really going to kickstart the rest of our lives.
“I honestly can’t believe it.
“I’m feeling quite calm, but I think that’s because the gravity of the situation hasn’t yet hit me.
“When I see all of those numbers hit my bank account, that’s when it will hit me.
His winning entry was a two-game System 8, which gives you every possible combination of your 8 numbers.
The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1566 on Tuesday 20 February 2024 were 11, 39, 24, 33, 7, 43 and 17, while the supplementary numbers were 26, 44 and 27.
