Testing for COVID-19 will be widened again, quarantine enforcement is proving effective, and more public servants will be trained for contact tracing, as another two new cases maintain the recent trend of low figures.
There remain 282 active cases with 738 recoveries and six deaths for a total of 1026.
94,977 tests have been conducted and will now include anyone with acute respiratory symptoms.
Testing was originally only for people with symptoms after returning from overseas or who had been in contact with a confirmed case. It was then expanded to anyone with acute respiratory symptoms in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns.
The Health Minister said that had now been further expanded so that anyone across the state who had fever (or history of fever) or acute respiratory symptoms could get tested.
Also today:
- The Attorney-General announced 500 more public servants would be trained to be ready to enhance contact tracing with public health units across Queensland.
- A statewide blitz to monitor and enforce coronavirus quarantine orders has shown that 93 per cent of individuals were complying and staying home as required.
- The Palaszczuk Government has enacted the moratorium on evictions, with a Practice Guide formalising the temporary requirements and protections for tenancies.
- The Chief Health Officer Premier said she looked forward to seeing a detailed proposal from the NRL about resuming the Rugby League season.
She also said she had always stressed the importance of exercise for everyone, and she encouraged people to exercise within their community.
