Queensland latest coronavirus data as at 26 June

Queensland has recorded its first new COVID-19 case in nine days after a patient infected in Papua New Guinea was transferred to Brisbane.

The man tested positive to the disease in PNG, where he was treated until being medically evacuated. He remains in hospital in Brisbane but is not showing symptoms.

The case takes Queensland's COVID-19 tally to 1,067. Just two cases remain active.

A total of 347,610 tests have been performed since the pandemic started, including 7,029 in the past 24 hours.

Currently, 1,025 of the 1,067 confirmed cases had recently travelled overseas or interstate, or had close contact with a confirmed case, such as their partner or flatmate.
