- The Crisafulli Government is delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy and a fresh start for Queensland.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering a fresh start and restoring Queensland's reputation on the world stage, leading the State's largest ever exporter delegation to Asia.
It is just one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy, which is in sharp contrast to years of missed opportunities under the former Labor government during their decade of decline.
Minster for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates will open a new Trade and Investment Queensland office in Hanoi, reinforcing Queensland's commitment to stronger regional partnerships and economic growth.
Minister Bates will then join more than 110 Queensland delegates to showcase premium products at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.
A third of businesses showcasing at CIIE hail from regional Queensland, including the likes of, Stanbroke Beef, JBS, Kilcoy Global Foods, Walker Seafoods and Bundaberg Brewed Drinks.
The opening of a new TIQ office in Hanoi during the mission adds to the existing Ho Chi Minh City office, demonstrating the Crisafulli Government's commitment to repairing Queensland's relationship with the market.
Queensland is the first Australian state to establish a dual-city trade and investment presence in Vietnam, the state's largest export destination in Southeast Asia, and sixth largest globally.
The China International Import Expo will help capitalise on the Queensland–China Trade and Investment Strategy 2025, launched in May and the State's new Global Business Brand, QueensLand of Opportunity.
Both the Queensland–China Trade and Investment Strategy 2025 and the debut of QueensLand of Opportunity in the Chinese and Vietnamese market continue the Crisafulli Government's strategic approach to promoting Queensland as Australia's premier destination to invest, trade, work and study.
Minister Bates said the China International Import Expo was the world's biggest stage for Queensland exporters.
"Throughout Labor's decade of decline, exports were transactional, relationships were an afterthought, Queensland's export potential sat idle and investment opportunities were missed," Minister Bates said.
"The Crisafulli Government is showing the world Queensland is once again open for business by leading our state's biggest ever delegation to CIIE and by opening another TIQ office in Vietnam.
"Our 113-strong delegation to CIIE will feature 51 companies, with their range of products highly popular among Chinese buyers, including premium beef, seafood, horticulture, wine and beverages, processed food and health and wellness products."
"By strengthening our ties with China and Vietnam we are laying the foundation for more resilient supply chains, greater market access and stronger relationships, all of which will underpin a better lifestyle through a stronger economy."
