  • The Titans' partnership is a chance for Queenslanders to celebrate Multicultural Month and connect through the unifying power of sport.
  • After Labor's decade of decline, the partnership demonstrates the Crisafulli Government's commitment to breaking down barriers and celebrate the cultural practices of all multicultural communities.

The Crisafulli Government will deliver a titanic launch to Multicultural Queensland Month in August through an official partnership with the Gold Coast Titans and the Titans Together Foundation.

The Titans vs New Zealand Warriors NRL clash on 1 August at Cbus Super Stadium will be the official launch event for Multicultural Queensland Month and highlight our state's diversity through performances, player stories and community celebration.

Through the Titans partnership, the Crisafulli Government will put Queensland's multicultural communities centre stage in front of thousands of spectators and many more watching at home through the Titans' digital and social media channels.

The agreement showcases the power of sport to bring people together in shared understanding, a commitment to breaking down barriers, creating a sense of belonging, and strengthening social cohesion.

The launch event will showcase cultural performances, player stories and community celebrations which help shape Queensland, reflecting the state's rich cultural diversity and providing an opportunity to celebrate the values which unite us.

This partnership demonstrates the Crisafulli Government's commitment to build stronger communities.

In stark contrast, the former Labor government was solely focused on division over delivery for our multicultural communities during their decade of decline.

Minister for Multiculturalism Fiona Simpson said partnering with the NRL club sets up a great start to Multicultural Queensland Month celebrations.

"In Queensland, sport is part of who we are. It unites people of all backgrounds and builds bridges between cultures, generations and communities – strengthening social cohesion and creating a real sense of belonging," Minister Simpson said.

"The Gold Coast Titans have a strong connection with their community and a broad supporter base, making this an invaluable opportunity to share the message of inclusion, participation and community spirit with audiences across Queensland.

"The Crisafulli Government is committed to breaking down barriers for our multicultural communities and building a stronger, more connected Queensland where everyone has the opportunity to fully participate in our way of life."

Gold Coast Titans Chairman Dennis Watt said the club was proud to support an initiative which celebrates the diversity and unity of Queensland communities.

"Rugby league continues to be a powerful vehicle to unite cultures, backgrounds and generations, and we see every day how sport can bring communities together through shared experiences and connections," Mr Watt said.

"This partnership and our upcoming clash against the Warriors on the Gold Coast are an opportunity to celebrate the rich multicultural fabric that makes Queensland such a vibrant place to live.

"We look forward to using our platform to help promote inclusion, participation and community spirit throughout the month of celebrations."

This year's Multicultural Queensland Month theme Get amongst it! encourages Queenslanders to connect with their communities, support local events and take part in the celebrations happening across the state throughout August.

Multicultural Queensland Month includes a packed calendar of sporting, cultural and community events, culminating in the Multicultural Queensland Awards, which recognise individuals and organisations making a difference in their communities.
