  • 2026 Queensland Youth Week to be held Saturday 11 April to Sunday 19 April 2026.
  • $275,000 in Queensland Government funding supports youth-led community events and initiatives.
  • 33 grants awarded for events across the state to be held during Queensland Youth Week.

The Crisafulli Government has awarded nearly $275,000 in grants thanks to a partnership with the Queensland Mental Health Commission to support young people to bring their creative event ideas to life.

Individual grants of up to $10,000 have been provided to young Queenslanders aged 12–25, empowering them to host exciting and impactful events during 2026 Queensland Youth Week.

Thirty-three grant recipients will deliver a diverse range of community events including youth showcases in Mossman, a fitness and wellbeing program in Barcaldine, an Expressions of Youth Creative Activations and Community Art event at the Gold Coast University Hospital and a sport competition in Toowoomba.

Queensland Youth Week is all about showcasing the talents, achievements and contributions young Queenslanders make to their communities, our state and beyond.

Minister for Youth Sam O'Connor said the expanded grants program has been made possible through a partnership with the Queensland Mental Health Commission.

"Nearly one in five Queenslanders is aged 12 to 25 and these young people play an important role in shaping our state's future, Minister O'Connor said.

"Youth Week is our opportunity to celebrate and support Queensland's next generation of leaders and changemakers.

"Our government is ensuring young Queenslanders are empowered to thrive and have their voices heard."
