Tickets are now available for events that will feature in Queensland's first ever Climate Week, being held next month.
Speaker forums, debates, festivals and a Pub Choir are among the public events that will be held across Queensland to raise awareness about climate change and inspire action.
Minister for Environment Leeanne Enoch said the public events provide an opportunity for all Queenslanders to become involved in Climate Week.
"It is critical that we unite to take urgent action on climate change, and these events provide an opportunity for community members and leaders to be better informed and get involved."
During the week, the Palaszczuk Government will also lead a series of meetings with political, business and community representatives from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific aimed at resetting policy and action on climate change.
"As a proud member of the Under 2 Coalition – a group of sub-national governments committed to keeping global warming below 2 degrees – the Palaszczuk Government is committed to doing its fair share to meet Australia's Paris commitments," Ms Enoch said.
"Queensland recognises that leadership is needed at every level, in our communities and at local, state and federal government levels, if we are going to make a difference.
"Here in Queensland, we are playing our part to help protect the future, and have set ambitious targets including 50% renewable energy by 2030 and zero net emissions by 2050."
Ms Enoch said such actions were needed to safeguard Queensland communities and natural assets like the Great Barrier Reef.
Climate Week Queensland will also see more than 800 business and community leaders from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region participate in climate leadership training with former US Vice President Al Gore and The Climate Reality Group.
"Climate Week is about all Queenslanders and is an opportunity for our state to showcase its credentials in the climate change policy space, both domestically and internationally," Ms Enoch said.
"We hope to see as many people as possible come and join in and be inspired to get active on climate change."
