Queenstown Residence Hit, Drunk Driver Charged

A 35-year-old Queenstown woman will appear in the Queenstown Magistrates Court in September after crashing her utility into the front yard of a residence in Queenstown on Friday evening.

Senior Constable Brad Coulson said the woman, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, reportedly lost control and drove through two pedestrian crossing barriers before crossing on to the wrong side of the road and into a fence at the front of a residence.

'This sort of reckless driving behaviour puts innocent people at risk and will not be tolerated' said Senior Constable Coulson.

The woman has been charged with drink driving (0.186) and driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor as well as being issued with an immediate driver licence disqualification notice.
