Questacon's Mini Q Gallery Set for Major Overhaul

Dept of Industry, Science and Resources

Questacon - The National Science and Technology Centre is thrilled to announce a major redevelopment of Mini Q, its much-loved gallery for children aged 0-6 years.

For over 20 years, Mini Q has captivated young visitors, offering a unique space for play-based exploration and discovery. This redevelopment will enable Questacon to remain a state-of-the-art facility and pave the way for a brand-new Mini Q experience, that is guided by the latest insights and best practices in early childhood education and STEM learning.

The new Mini Q will take children on an adventure from Ngunnawal Country all the way to the coast to meet a huge - but friendly - octopus, play with water in the mangroves, climb amongst coral and step aboard a fun-filled ship.

The redevelopment of Mini Q is a major step in Questacon's strategic vision to engage and inspire the next generation of curious minds.

To facilitate the redevelopment Mini Q will be closed from Sunday 1 June 2025 to October 2025.

Questacon will continue to welcome visitors during this period and will provide an alternative offering for its youngest audience.
