RACMA 'Leadership for Clinicians Program for AMA Members'

Australian Medical Association

Effectively leading and managing in the healthcare environment requires appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes. While these can often be learned "on the job", clinician leaders benefit from formal training and preparation in these fields.

The program has been tailored to be specifically relevant for AMA Members to build leadership capability, and to support members to succeed in both clinical and AMA leadership roles.

The six key study themes will be explored through a lens of policy and advocacy relevant to the AMA.

1. Understanding our healthcare system

2. Clinical governance and medicolegal awareness

3. Medical workforce management and engagement

4. Leading strategy and change

5. Financial governance

6. Professionalism, leadership and culture

Prof Tony Lawler, Leadership for Clinicians Alumnus encourages members in clinical leadership positions to consider the benefits of participating in the RACMA 'Leadership for Clinicians Program for AMA Members'.
