RADF Round 1 Funding Opens for Rockhampton Creatives

Capricornia Printmakers Workshop at Walter Reid Cultural Centre

Artists, creatives and cultural practitioners across the Rockhampton Region are encouraged to apply for funding through Round 1 of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) 2026/27 program.

Applications are now open for projects commencing after 10 August 2026 that celebrate creativity, build skills, engage communities and contribute to a vibrant arts and cultural sector across the region.

Funding is available through two categories: Development Grants and Project Grants.

Development Grants offer up to $5,000, covering up to 65 per cent of eligible project costs, to support artists and creative practitioners in strengthening their skills, artistic practice and professional careers. Funding can assist with activities such as mentoring, training, workshops, creative research, concept development, artistic experimentation, cultural exchange opportunities and the development of new work.

Project Grants provide up to $10,000, covering up to 80 per cent of eligible project costs, for public-facing arts and cultural projects that deliver community benefits across the Rockhampton Region. Eligible activities include exhibitions, performances, festivals, public art projects, community arts initiatives, cultural celebrations, workshops and creative collaborations.

RADF supports projects across a wide range of artistic and cultural disciplines, including visual arts, craft and design, theatre and performance, music, dance, literature and writing, multimedia and digital arts, cultural heritage, museums and collections, community arts and cultural development, and festivals and events.

Projects should demonstrate artistic merit and contribute to artistic excellence, cultural development, professional growth or increased community participation in the arts.

Prospective applicants can access information about previously successful RADF projects on Rockhampton Regional Council's website to help guide their applications.

In addition to the annual funding rounds, Quick Response Grants are available for projects or activities requiring support outside scheduled rounds. These grants provide up to 65 per cent of total project costs to a maximum of $1,000.

Applications for RADF Round 1 close on 29 July 2026.
