"Following the Premier's announcements of additional activities for fully vaccinated adults next month, now more than ever Wollongong needs the additional vaccination doses we were promised would arrive with the Wollongong Mass Vaccination Centre", Mr Scully said.
The Wollongong Vaccination Centre located at the Old David Jones building is currently delivering 700 daily vaccination doses daily. It was designed to deliver 2500 a day.
"My office is contacted by Wollongong residents every day frustrated at the delay in getting a vaccine appointment.
"People of all ages are wanting to do their bit to keep their families and the community safe from COVID infection and spread.
"But there just aren't enough doses available and the Wollongong Mass Vaccination Centre has had its capacity constrained to just 700 doses a day when it was designed to deliver up to 2500 doses daily.
"The Government must find the additional vaccine doses it committed to the Wollongong Mass Vaccination Centre so jabs can go in arms as quickly as possible", Mr Scully said.
He said it was welcome news that the Centre is now providing AZ for walk-in on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday afternoons but a gap remains.
He also welcomed the recent addition of a number of local pharmacies were delivering vaccines through walk-in and by appointment.
The Government has announced that people across New South Wales who receive both doses of COVID vaccine will be allowed more freedoms next month.
From Monday, 13 September 2021, people living outside the local government areas of concerns, outdoor gatherings of up to five people will be allowed in a person's LGA or within 5km of their home. However, all adults must have received both doses of COVID vaccine.
"There's no point in the Premier promising benefits for getting vaccinated when she doesn't deliver the vaccines she promised. It's time to deliver every single vaccine dose she committed to delivering to Wollongong now", Mr Scully said.
