Raptor Squad Charges Man After Harris Park Stop

Raptor Squad have charged a man with firearm offences following a routine vehicle stop in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 11.50am (Monday 12 May 2025), officers attached to State Crime Command's Raptor Squad were conducting proactive patrols in Granville when they observed an unregistered car.

The vehicle was stopped on Parkes Street in Harris Park and the driver was identified as being subject to a Firearm Prohibition Order.

Officers conducted a subsequent search of his car and located a replica firearm and just under 19 grams of alprazolam.

The driver of the car, a 43-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station.

Police then executed a Firearm Prohibition Order compliance check at the man's residence in Villawood.

During the search, officers located and seized a revolver firearm, over 50 live rounds of ammunition, more than $55,000 in cash, a baton, two more replica firearms, 213 grams of methylamphetamine, 19.5 grams of cocaine, 82 grams of cannabis, 29 grams of ketamine, anadrol tablets, 39 grams of benzodiazepine and various amounts of other unknown substances.

The man was charged with 20 offences relating to the possession of firearms, drugs, and driving unregistered.

He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Tuesday 13 May 2025).
