The Victorian Greens will enter the 60th Victorian Parliament with Samantha Ratnam as Leader, and Ellen Sandell as Deputy Leader.

The expanded party room met yesterday and re-elected both Ms Ratnam and Ms Sandell to the leadership team.

The portfolio responsibilities will be finalised in the new year.

Earlier this week the Victorian Greens achieved their strongest state election result on record, with eight MPs elected at a general election for the first time in Victorian political history.

The Greens are ready to get to work from day one to push the Labor government to raise the age of criminal responsibility to 14, end gas drilling, put a cap on rent increases, end native forest logging and pass the Greens' Strengthening Integrity bill.

As stated by Leader of the Victorian Greens, Samantha Ratnam MLC:

"I'm very excited to be re-elected as the Parliamentary Leader of the Victorian Greens, with Ellen Sandell as Deputy Leader. I'm proud that the Greens will continue to have an all women leadership team.

"We're heading into the next Parliament with a doubled party room and a historic breakthrough into regional Victoria.

"We will be ready from day one to get stronger action on First Nations justice, climate change, housing affordability and integrity and fix the undemocratic group voting system."
