The Australia Council has announced the latest resource in our Re-ignite suite - Re-activate: beyond step three.
This resource sets out industry standards and protocols for the arts and cultural industry to consider in preparation for moving into the next phase of Australia's response to COVID-19.
These protocols will assist artists and organisations as restrictions ease and provide essential advice regarding the next steps for the arts and cultural industry. This resource is intended to support the cultural industry in considering key elements for re-opening as states and territories move towards re-opening.
Executive Director Advocacy and Development, Dr Wendy Were said:
"We know how important arts and culture are to communities, regions and our cities, and how vital they are for a thriving economy and for the health and well-being of all Australians. Getting the arts and cultural industries moving again is essential to national economic, social and cultural recovery. The Australia Council has been working to remain responsive to the ever-shifting needs and parameters in play. We continue to work with health advisors, our federal government colleagues and our state and territory counterparts to forge a unified conversation around recommencing public cultural activities. We welcome the news that following the meeting of the National Cabinet on Friday 26 June, the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) has been asked to develop a roadmap for re-opening arts and entertainment venues, in particular to enable planning for productions to commence. This roadmap will build on the AHPPC Statement on the safe return of crowds to stadiums, arenas and large theatres.
