Re-appeal for information after firearms stolen during break-in at Cobar home

Police are re-appealing for public assistance after several firearms were stolen from a home at Cobar last year.

On Friday 2 August 2019, officers attached to Central North Police District were called to a home on Brough Street, Cobar, following reports of a break and enter.

Eight firearms – including seven handguns and one rifle – were reported stolen from the home.

One firearm in particular, a Glock pistol with an identifiable sight feature, was among the stolen firearms.

Police have been told the break-in occurred between Monday 31 July 2019 and Friday 2 August 2019.

As part of ongoing inquiries, police conducted a search at a property at Cobar about 10.40am on Friday (24 July 2020).

During the search, police located a box of .22 calibre and 25 rounds of shotgun ammunition which police believe could be linked to a separate break and enter which occurred at Cobar in February 2020.

Investigations are ongoing.
