The Allan Labor Government is delivering real cost‑of‑living relief for Victorians, with more than 245,000 eligible Victorian households already receiving $100 off their energy bill as part of the latest round of the Power Saving Bonus.
Minister for Energy and Resources Lily D'Ambrosio today visited Duke St Community House in Sunshine to encourage people to apply for the power saving bonus before it ends on 31 March.
This round of the power saving bonus has already slashed more than $24.5 million off energy bills for struggling Victorians since this round opened in August last year.
When applying, households need a recent residential electricity bill and must hold a health care, pensioner concession, veterans' affairs pensioner concession or veterans' affairs gold card.
Eligible Victorian households can claim the bonus through the Victorian Energy Compare (VEC) website or with in-person and over-the-phone support from the Community Outreach Program.
More than 10 per cent of applications have come through Neighbourhood Houses and over the phone through the helpline - giving people without access to the internet the extra help they need to claim their bonus.
Victorians struggling with energy bills can access the Energy Assistance Program, a free phone support service delivered in partnership with Anglicare Victoria and cohealth, providing expert guidance and practical help for anyone having trouble paying their energy costs.
Victorians can use the Victorian Energy Compare website to find the best priced offers in the energy market. In 2025, people who used the website to switch to a better deal saved an average of $170.
Launched in 2018, the Power Saving Bonus has supported more than 4.5 million applications across four rounds, delivering over $1 billion in energy bill relief to Victorian households.
Applications for the $100 Power Saving Bonus close at midnight on Tuesday 31 March 2026. To apply, visit compare.energy.vic.gov.au or call 1800 000 832. For the Energy Assistance Program call 1800 161 215.
