Recklessly endangering life in Katherine region

NT Police have charged a 41-year-old man in relation to an alleged serious assault in a remote community in the Katherine region.

Police allege the man assaulted a 35-year-old male relative with an edged weapon on 25 December.

Staff from the local clinic stabilised the victim before he was airlifted to Royal Darwin Hospital. He has since been medically evacuated to Adelaide for treatment.

The alleged offender has been charged with:

• Recklessly endangering life - aggravated

• Unlawfully cause serious harm

He was remanded to appear in Katherine Local Court today.
