Almost 80 per cent of university students rated their overall education experience positively.
Students from regional and remote areas were more likely to rate their experience positively than students from the city, according to the 2018 Student Experience Survey findings released today.
Minister for Education Dan Tehan said our record funding was delivering a high quality student experience, and students rated their experience positively.
"It's great to see that universities are flourishing under a Coalition Government," Mr Tehan said.
"Our Government provided more than $17 billion to Australian universities this year. We will provide $12 billion in research funding over the next four years.
"This record investment is leading to high-quality graduates who are job ready and taking advantage of the jobs being created under this Government.
"The results from this survey are also a reminder to universities about the importance of maintaining the highest standards and delivering a quality education. Universities must maintain a strong focus on the student experience."
Almost 20 per cent of undergraduate students considered leaving their course in 2018, citing reasons such as expectations had not been met (22%), academic support (18%) and quality concerns (15%).
The survey forms part of the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) Initiative, which captures information on the student experience from commencement through to employment.
