Record Low Unemployment Rate Remains

Liberal Tasmania
  • Jeremy Rockliff Premier, Minister for Tourism, Minister for Trade and Major Investment, Member for Braddon
  • The Australian Bureau of Statistics has confirmed that Tasmania's unemployment rate remains at 3.8 per cent.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said this was a strong outcome for all Tasmanians.

"We have a strong economy, the highest business confidence in the nation and a record run of low unemployment," Premier Rockliff said.

"This is something that all Tasmanians can celebrate.

"Tasmania has the lowest unemployment rate of any state in the nation, and our economy is worth a record $40.6 billion.

"It is a testament to the strong work between our Government, the business community, small businesses, and every single Tasmanian who is working to keep our economy moving forward.

"We must not allow this work to stop.

"Our Government has worked tirelessly to rebuild our economy after the last Labor-Green Government destroyed it.

"A majority Liberal Government is the only way to keep Tasmania moving forward with certainty, stability, and efficiency.

"This election comes down to one choice: a strong Liberal team with a real plan or another merry-go-round of chaos and compromise.

    "Let's get on with it.

"Let's finish the job for Tasmania."
